Adam Langerman

Adam Langerman graduated from Webb Institute with a dual bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. He has over two decades of experience specializing in yacht design, restorations, and custom projects. After working as a managing partner at Herreshoff Designs for 15 years, he founded Langerman Design. He’s highly sought after for his combination of classic yacht expertise and innovative approach to design and construction. Century-old techniques and craftsmanship are improved, through his utilization of modern technologies.

Adam has been following his passion for the water his entire life. He has logged over 25,000 miles racing and cruising classic yachts between the Mediterranean, Caribbean and the U.S. East Coast. Adam's most significant sails have been ocean passages on the 1926 NY40 - RUGOSA and the 163ft Schooner ELEONORA, as well as dozens of races as navigator on the Herreshoff schooners ELEONORA and ELENA.

Adam is on the technical committee of the Classic Yacht Owner's Association, a Classic Yacht Symposium writer and guest speaker, and co-captain of Bristol Yacht Club’s Frostbite Fleet. He resides in Bristol, Rhode Island with his wife and their two yellow Labrador Retrievers.
